The Wellshare Way
A manifesto for health and wellness practitioners
By Dr Bloomfield
Health and wellness is a profession of service. But it is also a business.
Ignoring either leads to dependence, burnout, or quiet dissatisfaction.
The Wellshare Way exists to help practitioners build work that is financially viable, intellectually fulfilling, and aligned with the life they actually want to live .
We believe income matters, but only to a point .
You invest years learning and practicing your craft. You deserve to be remunerated for skill, judgment, and responsibility. But money without reflection creates distortion. Too little income breeds anxiety and dependence. Too much money, pursued without intention, carries hidden costs that often surface later in health, relationships, or meaning.
We believe each practitioner must define what "enough" means for themselves .
Enough is not a number. It is a balance. There is a bell curve of effort: too little work leads to stagnation, too much leads to burnout. The optimal point is different for everyone and finding it requires self-awareness, not comparison .
We believe autonomy is the real asset .
Autonomy over time, pricing, patients, and direction. Relationships with platforms, employers, referrers, or corporates are healthy when they preserve this autonomy and the economics are honest. Dependence without choice is not success.
We believe mastery and growth develop together .
Real growth comes from repeated real-world interaction, pattern recognition, and judgment earned through experience.
We believe expansion is a choice, not a requirement .
Some practitioners are fulfilled by building larger organisations or extending their influence. However, our observation is that most are fulfilled by remaining focused, independent, and deeply engaged in their craft. Both paths are valid.
What matters is intentionality .
Expansion without deep thought, or without clarity on why it is being pursued and what it will cost, often leads to complexity rather than freedom. Growth should enhance life, not inhibit it.
We believe in optimising for stress-adjusted income , not revenue alone.
Every additional dollar carries a trade-off, even if it is not immediately visible.
We believe that enduring demand for your service is the most reliable form of security.
It is built through competence, trust, reputation, and consistency, not shortcuts. A meaningful milestone is knowing you could step away from practice for a long period of time and return to genuine demand.
We believe differentiation is central to success .
Sustainable demand comes from being clearly known for something specific, valuable, and hard to replace. Practitioners who try to be everything to everyone end up being nothing to nobody.
We believe success is strongest in a community of individuals , not hierarchies.
Wellshare exists to support people who are building their skills, practices, reputations, and lives. Not extracting value from others without contribution.
The community is strengthened when individuals remain independent, thoughtful, and generous with insight.
If your goal is to build something without meaning overnight and sell it for a billion dollars, you have chosen a different game to the Wellsharian .
This is not the only path.
But it is the one WE choose.
